Do Not Pass Go

Over the past decade, in addition to my adaptation of Frank Wedekind's Musik, I have translated a number of contemporary German and French plays.

In 2017, I completed a translation of Iranian-born Paris-based writer Kazem Shahryari's dark study of the treatment of women in immigrant communities, l'Automne Pr├ęcoce.

Do Not Pass Go is a translation of German playwright Ulrike Syha's hit comedy Herr Schuster Kauft Eine Strasse, first performed at Germany's Nationaltheater in Mannheim in 2010. New York's Voyage Theatre company staged a first reading of Do Not Pass Go in Manhattan on Feb 19, 2015. An extract was published in US translation journal Asymptote in 2014.

Superheroes is a translation of Austrian playwright Ewald Palmetshofer's Helden, and was first performed at New York's HotINK festival in 2008. Extracts have also appeared in Asymptote.

Fish Soup, first performed at the Tampere International Theatre Festival in 2005, is a translation of German author Paul Brodowsky's Stadt Land Fisch. It was also performed at the 2010 New York HotINK festival.

Also performed at the same festival was my translation Digging of Austrian writer Christian Winkler's play Graben.
